Warranty Guidelines

Included in the price of every Transmission Planet Guaranteed Transmission is our Two (2) Year Unlimited Mileage Limited Part Warranty. The part must be installed within 30 days from delivery date in accordance with the guidelines and warranty validation procedures contained in this document. At our discretion, Transmission Planet will repair, replace, or provide a refund for any defective part to the original purchaser, assuming all warranty guidelines have been followed.

TWO (2) YEAR LIMITED PART WARRANTY

Subject to the limitations below, Transmission Planet expressly warrants to the original purchaser for two (2) years from the date of original purchase against the failure of the part as specifically described on the packing slip or invoice accompanying such part due to defects in Transmission Planet’s materials or  workmanship (a defective part). ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED, TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, AND TO THE TIME PERIOD COVERED BY THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. If the purchaser complies with the terms of this warranty, and upon the return of the defective part, Transmission Planet will repair or replace a defective part. This determination will be made upon the inspection of the unit. Transmission Planet may, at its discretion, provide a refund equal to the price paid for the part in lieu of repair or replacement of the part. The foregoing is the only, sole and exclusive remedy under the terms of this warranty.

TERMS

Standard warranty begins from the date transmission arrives at customer location and expires 24 months later.

EXCHANGE OR REFUND

Upon return of a unit by buyer, Transmission Planet may, at it’s sole discretion, provide a product exchange or refund for that unit if it is found to be defective, it is within the warranty period, the warranty has been validated, and prior authorization for the return was properly obtained.  This warranty does NOT extend to any replacement units provided by Transmission Planet.  Such units shall be covered by their own warranties. 

EXCLUSIONS

•        This warranty covers internal parts This warranty specifically excludes shift and throttle control cables, electrical components, maintenance items, external seals, fluids, gaskets, and accessories. 

•        Any damage or failure resulting from or attributed to the improper installation or adjustments made by the customer or an agent acting on behalf of the customer.

•        Any repair attempt not specifically authorized by Transmission Planet customer service.

•        This warranty does not cover damage or failure arising directly or indirectly from improper installation (not in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications, methods, service manuals, and/or Technical Service Bulletins (TSB’s), or related vehicle problems, misuse, maintenance, neglect, abuse, overheating, vandalism, abnormal operation, environmental conditions, accident or any damage which was apparent and not reported at the time of delivery.

•        Parts installed in a vehicle used for fleet or commercial purposes and vehicles that are used for racing (whether on-road or off-road) or used off-road are not covered by this warranty.

•        Parts installed in vehicles other than cars, pickup trucks, and SUV’s are not covered by this warranty.

•        Parts installed in vehicles with a GVWR greater than 8,000 lbs. are not covered by this warranty. 

•        Incidental or consequential damages including, but not limited to, damage to or cost of related parts, diagnostic fees, labor costs for installation or removal of the transmission, shipping charges, loss due to down time, towing costs, loss of income, travel expenses, loss of transportation, rental vehicle, and/or transmission inspection fees.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES FOR WARRANTY VALIDATION:

To validate the warranty, installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery date and the work indicated below must be performed and documented at the time of installation.  Upon initiating a warranty claim, you will be required to provide appropriated record of installation date, mileage, VIN and mechanic. Maintenance receipts and other documentation may be requested as part of the warranty claim process. In addition, the signed warranty validation document must be returned to Transmission Planet within 30 days of delivery date.

•        Torque converter must be fully seated in the front pump.

•        Transmission cooler and lines MUST be flushed (per manufacturer’s specifications) or replaced at time of installation to avoid contamination.

•        All transmissions must be installed, maintained and adjusted by a professional experienced in removal/reinstall or an authorized Transmission Planet installation facility.

•        Fill transmission and differential/final drive to the proper level using proper fluids in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines.

•        Computer codes must be cleared at the time of installation.

 

RETURN POLICY

Contact us for a return authorization number which will be used to process a return. Transmission Planet reserves the right to inspect defective products before adjustments to billing are made. No return or adjustments after 90 days on any products. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee, as well as shipping costs. Special orders & special order deposits are NOT refundable.

 

Six (6) Month Limited Labor Warranty (if purchased)

If the warranted part is installed be an ASE-Certified technician and the above stated work is performed at the time of installation, Transmission Planet will provide a (6) Six Month Limited Labor Warranty from the date of purchase, subject to the terms, exclusions, general and specific limitations of our Two (2) Year Limited Part Warranty.  Labor reimbursement will be in accordance with the original installation hourly rate and labor hours incurred, not to exceed the rate of $50.00 per hour and not to exceed the applicable hours schedule for the work performed as published in the Mitchell Repair Manual or AllData labor specifications.  Total labor reimbursement is limited to $500 or the invoiced cost of the part, whichever is less.

General Limitations

1.  This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. You must be able to provide an original receipt in your name for  the warranty claim to be considered. 

2.  Any repairs or removal of the part not authorized by Transmission Planet will void the warranty.

3.  We reserve the right to have the part inspected to insure that all pertinent provisions of this warranty have been met prior to any replacement, repair, or refund.

4. All shipments must be inspected for damage BEFORE being signed for and the carrier released. Any shipment not refused by the recipient due to damage, or minor damage notated on the shipping document are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Once the shipping document is signed as clear, the shipper and Transmission Planet will assume no liability for any damage.

5.  THIS WARRANTY IS NULL AND VOID IF:

           a.    Failures are caused by non-covered components, improper installation, failure to clear computer codes, defective workmanship,  usage for which the part was not intended and/or improper maintenance (e.g. using the incorrect types and levels of fluids and lubricants, as specified by the vehicle manufacturer).

           b.    Product is installed in an application for which the vehicle manufacturer did not intend it.

           c.    Failure is caused by towing a trailer or other vehicle unless your vehicle is equipped for this purpose as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

           d.    Product is installed or operated outside of the United States.

           e.    Failure is caused by or related to a collision, fire, theft, vandalism, riot, explosion, lightning, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, freezing, flood or any other Act of God.

           f.    Failure is caused by neglect, abuse, misuse, racing (whether on road or off-road), or modifications to the vehicle.

           g.    There is evidence that the vehicle was continually operated after a failure occurred.

           h.    The heat tabs are missing, tampered with, melted, misplaced, or otherwise not as originally installed.

6.  This part may have accessories that are attached, and must be switched or removed to accommodate proper installation, which is the responsibility of the installer.  Such accessories are not covered by this warranty.

7.  This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Any legal action brought or held on the basis of this Limited Warranty and/or Terms and Conditions of the sale agreement will be brought and held in the courts located in Cherokee County, Georgia. The customer assumes any and all legal fees, including attorney costs for both parties, if the customer is determined to be guilty in the aforementioned court of law.

8.  Transmission Planet does not authorize any person to create for it any obligation or liability in connection with this warranty.
